About me
Hello and welcome to my e-portfolio! I currently conduct both quantitative and mixed-methods research investigating the impact of trauma and adversities on mental health among minority adolescents, and how coping strategies and protective mechanisms can be leveraged to promote mental health among at-risk youth through intervention in school and community settings.
I am extremely passionate about understanding the relationship between adversity in childhood (abuse, trauma, etc.) and the development of serious mental illnesses in black and brown individuals. I want to research and understand mitigators to then develop interventions that support and uplift racial minorities struggling with serious mental illness. In my free time I enjoy hiking, being creative through painting and writing, and trying new foods.
I will be starting the MA Psychology Program at San Diego State University, and pursuing a Clinical Psychology PhD Program thereafter.
